Protection of children today is protection of Uganda’s future

We are so proud of the African Woman of the Month, our very own Tracy Kyagulanyi!

In December 2013, Child’s i Foundation’s Executive Director Tracy Kyagulanyi followed through on one of the most important decisions of her life: after twelve years of working and building a life with her husband Roger Kyagulanyi and daughters Ella F Mirembe and Lizzy F Sanyu in the UK, she decided to move back home to fulfil her lifelong dream of working with and contributing to policy development that favours children in Uganda.

“The work that we do is so important. The need that we are trying to contribute to meeting is so big that there is a need for more people to support and see to it that these vulnerable children grow up in loving families… It’s difficult but life is not about money; it’s really about what makes you fulfilled. And my fulfilment right now is knowing that I’m making a positive contribution to the wellbeing of children in Uganda- to the plight of children who are vulnerable, and not very much the focus of many people.”

‘Protection of children today is protection of Uganda’s future and my plan is to be a part of the movement and transformation that will see our country transform to one where children matter and risks to them reduced as it is in other parts of the world.”

“The work that we do is so important….”
