Meet Ruth, you are making her work possible

We want to tell you a story about Ruth….

Ruth worked as a carer at Malaika Babies home. When we closed it, Ruth was the first one to take the courageous step towards fostering. She put her hand up, and was the first trained foster carer for Child’s i Foundation. Ruth has opened up her heart and home to six children since the programme started. Three of these children now have happy adoptive forever families. One child is in long term foster care, and two children still live with Ruth.

Jill is one of the children in Ruth’s loving care right now. Jill has been with Ruth for over a year, after her mother left her in a pit latrine.

Our team are still searching for Jill’s family – but in the meantime she’s safe and loved in Ruth’s care.

Ruth is an experienced carer and she loves children and the work she does. She is very passionate and the children in her care have thrived. Ruth loves to spend time playing with her foster children and taking them to church. She makes sure that all her children learn about their culture and languages. Like any good mother, she teaches them good behaviour, and how to love and be loved.

I’d like to personally thank you for being an amazing part of the Child’s i Foundation community – making families, not orphans.

If you have any questions or comments that you would like to share with us, please get in touch anytime – we’d love to hear from you.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your love and support.
