Work with Us
Together we are committed to seeing each child in Uganda grow up in a safe and loving family.

UK Trustee Position
Help a child grow up in a family not an orphanage
Child’s i Foundation is looking to recruit two new trustees to join its UK Board
Job Purpose
The main purpose of the role is to ensure and enable effective financial management of the organisation, including budgeting & planning, accounting, reporting, internal controls and grant management
A small international non-profit organisation with a big impact, Child’s i plays a critical role in a global movement to ensure that every child grows up in a family not an orphanage.
Working in Uganda we are developing a blueprint for sustainable alternatives to orphanages: truly social services run by and for communities to strengthen families. We believe this model can be taken across global borders to help children throughout the world grow up in a safe, loving family.
As we now start to scale our work, we want to strengthen our UK board with two new trustees. We are specifically looking for individuals who are passionate about our mission and who have experience in at least two of the following areas:
- Fundraising: experience of working with and pitching to major donors/philanthropists or of public fundraising/events to support and guide our fundraising teams
- Africa (especially Uganda): either as lived experience, or having worked in the continent in an international development capacity
- Care: lived experience of care or fostering/adoption or experience of working in this field
The board meets 4 – 6 times per year in London. There will be papers to read in advance and may be additional subcommittee or ad hoc meetings. The time commitment is likely to be approximately 30-40 hours per year.
The trustees play a vital role in steering, supporting and scrutinising the executive team and organisation. As a trustee, you will have the opportunity to contribute to strategic decisions and develop new skills. You will play a part in shaping our future strategy and networking with senior professionals. This is a voluntary role but reasonable expenses for travel to board meetings will be paid if required. There will be a full induction process.
Most important of all you will have the chance to join a team that is improving the lives of some of the world’s most at risk children.
